Rooted Therapy Space

What is this “therapy” thing all about? What can I expect?

Therapy begins with you; you are the most important part! People access therapy for an array of reasons. For some people, therapy is to help find a solution to a problem they seem to feel “stuck” on. For some, it’s to help learn to cope with stress or anxiety. Others, it’s to process an event that has stayed with them. Some need extra support with a relationship. Whatever your reason is, you have space here.

Therapy will look a little different depending on which of my services you are interested in accessing. In general, you can expect to sit down with me (virtually or in person) in a confidential and safe space. There are no other distractions in our sessions and your privacy is of upmost importance to me. I often take notes while we are talking but will respect your comfort if that is something you prefer I do not do.

We will engage in a conversation at a pace that feels comfortable for you- you will never be forced to answer anything if you don’t want to. I will follow your lead and ensure that you are at ease with where our conversations go. If you feel nervous or worried about anything, it is my job to soothe those worries. I am here to offer you a nonjudgmental and open space.

There is no set time for how many sessions are necessary. Each person is different. I am often asked “how long will this take” and the answer is “let’s wait and see!”. Each person’s therapeutic journey is different and unique- just like you!
